Peas Chaat /Sundal is an Indian vegetarian snack. Like most items I have posted in my blog, this recipe is simple and can be customized to your liking. Its perfect for winter, as it packs heat and protein in one savory combination. Like I mentioned in my page-
Healing Secrets of Food, eating healthy does not have to be complicated. Try this today and you will see what I mean...
Serves 6 persons. Needs overnight preparation.
Soak peas overnight or about 8 hours.
Boil peas until soft (Preferably in a pressure cooker).
-
Place a vessel over medium heat and sauté the saunf seeds.
When the saunf sizzles, add one chopped onion and continue until onions are transparent.
Add carrots and continue until carrots soften.
Add tomatoes and continue to cook for about 2 minutes.
Allow it to cool to room temperature.
Blend the mixture to make a smooth puree (Add water if necessary).
Place the puree over medium heat and add 2 cups of water, boiled peas, chili powder and salt to taste.
Continue to stir until it boils.
Set aside for a couple of minutes to add your favorite garnish.
Serve hot with cilantro and onions or your favorite crushed chips.
