Start the new year with a fresh and healthy smoothie. It can be any smoothie. Why did I choose orange and carrots? Orange on one hand, provides a lot of health benefits such as immune system support, cancer prevention, and is heart friendly . Carrots, on the other hand improves your eyesight, and promotes weight loss. I make this smoothie at least once a week. Here is my simple recipe for a delicious and nutritious orange-carrot smoothie. Use it in good health.

2 Oranges

Roughly an inch long piece of ginger

Peel the oranges and remove the seeds. Peel the carrots lightly to remove the dirty outer layer. Chop the apple into quarters and remove the seeds. Skin the ginger (Tip: It is unbelievably easy to peel the ginger skin with a spoon, with very minimal wastage). Add all the ingredients in a blender and blend until a smooth consistency is achieved. Your breakfast smoothie is ready to make you feel refreshed for the rest of the day.
You can add filtered water or non-fat milk as a base for the smoothie. I usually add few pieces of a melon (cantaloupe, honeydew or water melon) to make a healthy base.
